Physical Attributes

Slash is much bulkier, taller and has darker skin than most Absols. His horn is much sharper as well, possibly as a nod to his Houndoom heritage. Another known trait is the fact Slash's eyes are a golden-yellow instead of the typical red eyes Absols tend to have, since again, the trait is carried from his father, who carries the same colored eyes.

Personality Traits

Social
Slash often interacts with those he encounters. Depending if they allow it, that is. He rarely shows hostility towards others, unless given a reason to do so.

Lonely
Everyone has a side they don't show to others, and Slash is no exception. Despite having ties to many and even having those he can call friends, his upbringing still plagues him, making him always harbor of a sense of loneliness.

Brave
Slash very rarely shows fear, even if the situation looks bleak. However, he isn't immune to fear, and can feel it, but instead always puts on a brave face for his friends and comrades. He also tends to not let fear slow him down, he will rush into any situation with a brave face.

Loyal
One of his most well know traits, Slash shows deep loyalty to those he befriends. His loyalties always come first, even before his own wellbeing. He does whatever is necessary to protect his loved ones, even risking self harm or his very life.

Protective
Another well known trait, Slash will always rush to one's side and protect them with all he has, regardless of the situation or the risks. This can often lead him to being reckless, as he never considers his own wellbeing.

Determined
Slash never gives up. Nothing ever seems to phase his determination. If there's a will, then there's always a way. He will stubbornly hold onto that fact until his last breath. He encourages others, he makes sure they always have hope, even if he must step up to do so. Many Pokemon he has befriended always admire his fierce and unbreakable determination, standing up against any threat with no fear whatsoever.

Compassionate
Its easy to say Slash is easily very caring and empathetic. Rarely using violence to get the message across, Slash uses his understanding toward other's feelings instead, never raising a paw once in aggression. He is always there to lend an ear or a shoulder to cry on, even to a total stranger.

Relations

Eclipse the Houndoom

"The reason I even exist. I never got to really meet him, as its taboo in my family to mate with a Houndoom. Yet my mother did anyways, as she always told me that despite his intimidating looks, my father was very kind. Another trait she always told me he carried was the fact his eyes were almost a golden color, the same color eyes I possess. As such, I tend to keep an eye out for such a Houndoom. Father... I wish to meet you, some day..."

Glade the Absol

"My mother... She was always very gentle and loving. She had the ability to see the good in any Pokemon, perhaps that's how she was able to love my father so much, despite how taboo it was. Yet, I was still the result of their union. She loved me as any mother would their child, not caring how our pack felt. Perhaps she was too loving, too caring... Mother, I wish I could of protected you when the pack turned on us..."

Felice The Espurr

"I met her some time after my banishment from my pack. Never once did it occur to me that she would end up as my closest friend. We met when I was resting, she tried to intimidate me somehow. Yet, I did not see someone scary. No, she was more insecure than anything. I felt a connection there, as we were both deemed as curses, beings that should of never existed. Perhaps that's what helped us both form a bond that would eventually become so strong... Nothing would break it..." (More TBA once me and Pancake talk more about their history together. XD)

Backstory

Everyone is born somehow. Young Slash was the result of a horrid taboo. The mating of a Houndoom and an Absol. His darker skin was a dead giveaway... His eyes also didn't help with hiding his heritage. Eclipse the Houndoom was well known in the area, with everyone proclaiming he was literally a Hellhound, a creature of hatred and bloodlust. However, Glade, Slash's mother, had gotten close to the Houndoom, and in doing so, learned he wasn't as everyone proclaimed he was. He was simply misunderstood, and Glade felt pity toward him. As they spent more time together, their friendship blossomed into romance. And after a night together, Glade learned she would become a mother, and Eclipse would be a father. When the egg finally hatched, Slash was born. His pack was disgusted with him. He was the forbidden child of a Houndoom and an Absol. He was hated from that moment on, being called many things. An abomination, a half bred, a curse... But he was called "half bred" by his pack the most, since in their eyes, he would never be a full bloodied Absol.

His childhood was not any better. Other kits avoided him like a plague, and some even mustered courage to attack and beat him up. Other members would glare at him and tell him to go away. The only one he could turn to was his mother. Eclipse never even got to meet his son, as the pack would not allow the Houndoom anywhere near their territory. Soon, the poor hound gave up and never returned. The young kit was told stories about his father, and began to harbor a dream of some day meeting his Houndoom father. He eventually grew accustomed to being alone among the pack, knowing full well he wasn't welcomed by them. But he never understood why. So what if his father was a Houndoom, he was still an Absol like them! So disgusted they were of him, they never even allowed him to be given a name. He was more identified by his heritage than anything, and thus, he had no true name to give himself a true identity.

He soon began to grow into his adolescence years, with his mother believing the pack would accept him over time. They never did. No, they finally decided that the so called horrid half bred had to be destroyed. For they feared he would fulfill a prophecy that the offspring of a Houndoom and an Absol would bring horrible destruction among the world. Hence why the mating of such Pokemon became so taboo. Glade tried in vain to stand up for her son, since she had never seen him act out against anyone, even when they turned their backs on him, her son never grew spiteful. No, because of some silly prophecy, the pack had become spiteful instead. Out of anger and just overall sick of seeing the half bred continue to exist, the pack attacked. The young Absol tried in vain to protect his mother, but he was knocked away with an injured leg. Glade encouraged him to flee, and after some convincing, he did. Glade, meanwhile, was torn apart by her pack, killed in cold blood. The young Absol would never forget her painful cries as her life was taken.

He never went back to his pack, for he knew they would kill him if he ever showed himself again. So, determined to get away and start anew, the nameless Absol took to traveling. Perhaps he could find his long lost father at long last. His leg healed and left a scar, but his fur regrew, therefore hiding the painful reminder. Some Pokemon he met were kind and tolerable toward him, but many fled at the sight of him. However, he was already used to being alone. However, it didn't prevent the loneliness from hurting him. He wanted someone he could call a friend, someone who wouldn't look at him with fear of disgust. But would there be such a Pokemon? He didn't know. Or if anything else... he wanted to find his father. A Houndoom with the same color eyes as his own. One day, he decided to take rest in a patch for the time being, as his travels made him tire. As he prepared to rest, a sound drew his attention. A SNAP of some sorts. As he gazed around, he spotted a small form. Something that was a lavender color. He tilted his head as he watched the small creature stand back up, and then... Moved toward him. Starring at him unblinkingly. It only added to his confusion. It wasn't long before he and the smaller Pokemon, an Espurr, were face to face. He had heard about these creatures, supposedly being very deadly.

Yet... He felt no such thing from this one. She seemed to be attempting to intimidate him, but he felt no fear. It wasn't because of her attempt, something about her just... seemed to draw him in. He couldn't tell what, but he decided to speak finally, to break the silence. "Do I have something on my face?" He asked, still confused. Was that why she was starring, and he was just misunderstanding her body language? Shock seemed to overtake the small feline for a moment, before giving a response so quiet, the Absol almost missed it.

"U-Um... no." What an odd creature. The air was quiet once more. The young Absol watched her, wondering what she was thinking. Should he leave, perhaps? He caught her voice again. "So... are you scared of me, or what?"  That was an unusual question. He gave his head a shake, confused at such a question. If he had been scared, he would of shown the signs, right? No, this Espurr gave no vibe to feel scared or anything.

"No. Why should I be afraid? You're not posing a threat toward me."

He gave his response in an honest way. Truthfully, he was kind of thankful she didn't run off. He had desired to talk with someone, and she wasn't leaving. So... Perhaps they could talk some more. He hoped so. He had began to almost forget what having company felt like. The Espurr was gazing down, as if processing what he had just said. He watched her, wondering if she would speak again, or simply leave. He didn't move an inch, in fear he would scare her away. He wanted to ask for her name, or something, but uttered no sound.  He began to feel she wouldn't speak again, however... She slowly raised her head, her eyes starring into his own golden eyes, as she spoke again, asking a question once more.

"Why not? Aren't you afraid that I'll blow you up? Or cast curse on you? That's what everyone else thinks, anyway."  The Espurr shook her head, and frowned in frustration.  "Why should you be any different...?"

The Absol understood. Sure, these two only just met, but after uttering that, he felt something he knew all too well. Loneliness. Confusion. Frustration. He gave a nod to show he understood, and realized what she was. He heard all the stories of Espurrs being nothing more than mindless killers. But this one posed no such threat toward him, and he too... Understood how it felt be called a curse, a being that shouldn't even exist. Not just himself, but his entire species as a whole. He sat down and spoke again, feeling the need to let her know he was on the same page as her.

"Ah, so you're an Espurr. I've heard of your kind." He gave a brief, soft smile, hoping to keep her from leaving him. "In a sense... you and I, we can relate. Others often think my species are walking disasters. In reality, my kin can sense a natural disaster before it even happens. When we try to warn others, they think we're bringing the said disaster to them."

The Espurr was silent once more. Perhaps she began to realize what he was. Yet she still didn't leave. He wanted to say more, but he began to feel he had overstayed his welcome. He still decided to wait for her to speak again. Maybe she would reply, or scoff him. Yet, no more words came from her maw. Perhaps that was the sign he should continue on his way. Something still urged him to give her a piece of advice he knew first hand... Considering it was something he had dealt with since the day he was brought into existence.

"But, its not the case. Those who don't understand always fear the unknown."

So true those words were. He knew them all too well. Feeling he was done here, he stood, turned and began to walk off. It felt nice, having spoken to someone else. It gave him a feeling of small happiness. Yet, here he was, beginning his lonesome travels. However, the voice of the Espurr reached him, causing him to stop.

"...Wait! You. What's your name?"

In truth, the Absol had no name to claim as his own. He never was allowed to have one. Nor did he even consider giving himself one at all. Yet... Someone wanted to know what to call him. He knew right there... He could finally give himself an identity. Not just walk with no name. No... he could finally become a someone. Not just a nobody. After taking a moment to think of what to call himself... A name rang in his mind, and he spoke.

"You can call me Slash."

He did not know where the name came from, but as he uttered it... he felt something inside him form. An identity at long last. He was finally someone with a name. And thus, he would cling to the name, as he had desired a name from day one, but was never allowed one. But finally, freed from his past, he was able to at long last give himself a name, an identity.

"Slash..." He heard the Espurr say, as if getting used to his new name. "M-Me... I'm Felice."

At long last, he knew her name. A name he would never forget. She quickly spoke once more, as if remembering something. "H-hey! I... I live with these Ponyta and Rapidash.  We'll be here a few more days.  Maybe you could stop by sometime before we go?"

That made him pause entirely. He never once had anyone actually want him to come back, to see them again. Even some of the nicer Pokemon he had encountered in his travels didn't even ask him to return. It was right there, he began to feel a connection toward Felice. Perhaps, like himself... She was just lonely and wanted a friend. Much like he did. Such a chance... he wouldn't pass it up. He gave a nod.

"I think I will. Thanks for the invite."

With that, Slash moved on. For the first time, he felt genuinely happy. Could it be he had finally found the one he could call, "friend"? Felice never left his mind after the encounter. He and she were so similar... He decided he would go seek her out. As the next day came, he went off to find the herd of Ponyta and Rapidash Felice told him about. It didn't take long to find the herd, as he had seen their species before. His golden eyes sought out the Espurr he had discovered but to his disappointment, didn't see her. Perhaps this was the wrong herd? However, he decided to seek out answers, approaching them with no sign of malice. He simply wished to speak to them.

"Do you know of an Espurr? Her name is Felice. Is she with you?"

The equine Pokemon exchanged looks. Some were eyeing him in a distrustful way. Looks he was used to, but he truly meant no harm whatsoever.

"No. Whatever told you such a thing... We're simply Ponyta and Rapidash only. Be gone, being of disaster. Take your cursed powers with you."

Slash felt a sting in him. He had to guess they didn't trust him and were lying. Yet, he made no attempt to argue. He turned and walked off with a heavy heart. Was this for nothing? He would only see Felice once? And never again? No... he wouldn't let it end like this. He took off to seek Felice out himself. He spent the day seeking the Espurr, and even attempted to ask other Pokemon about her. None gave any useful answers. As the sun began to set, Slash was tired. He decided to try again tomorrow. Felice would have to be there some time. Finding food and water to drink, he retired for the night, dreaming of meeting Felice once more...

More TBA...

Fun Facts

He has own his title, known as "Hell's Disaster" as a nod to his heritage, since he can be as deadly as a Houndoom and be as intimidating as any other Absol.

He is well known for the trade mark scar on his eye, however, he has an additional scar, on his leg but is hidden due to his fur. Only way to know the scar even exists is to touch the spot where the scar is.
